    State of Tennessee Department of Insurance Requirements
  • Licensees are required to complete 24 hours including 3 hours ethics every 2 years.
  • Effective January 1 2009, a producer will only be exempt from CE requirements if the producer has been licensed continuously since 1994. No interruptions in license. A producer whose license has been inactive for any amount of time since 1994 will not qualify for the exemption
  • Effective until December 31 2008:Those licensed for more than 15 years and/or over the age of 65 are exempt from continuing education.
  • Exams are non-monitored.
  • Up to 12 excess credit hours may be carried forward to the next renewal period.
  • Courses are repeatable every 3 years.
  • Course provider is responsible for reporting course completion to the state.
  • If licensees do not comply with the c.e. requirement, they have one year to reinstate their license.
